Training<\/h2>\n

Growing up in Lindau, the son of forestry director Dr. Karl Mang. Trained strictly and performance-oriented, after attending the primary school and the nine-year, instructive time at the Bodenseegymnasium in Lindau 1968 the Abitur took place.<\/p>\n

Early on, his interest was in plastic surgery. Already as a student he modeled faces and forms, attracted attention through creative work and artistic skills. This combination of medical-surgical interest and artistic skills was arguably the key to success.[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code module_class=”white_text” _builder_version=”4.27.5″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n

At the age of 18, he made a pilgrimage to Rio de Janeiro with his saved money (bathmaster work on Lake Constance) to the Nestor of Plastic Surgery, Prof. Dr. Ivo Pitanguy. Several stays in Brazil followed during his studies in Munich. He also completed a semester abroad in London and USA. He was particularly fascinated by the anatomy of the face, he already taught younger students during his studies, because sound anatomy is the basis for good surgery.<\/pee>At the age of 24 he completed his studies with the predicate 1. It followed in the same year the doctorate and the beginning with the specialist training: Surgical assistant doctor at the district hospital Lindau, specialist recognition in 1980 at the hospital Gro\u00dfhadern Munich and specialization in the field of plastic operations. 1982 Senior physician at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich, head of the Department of Plastic Facial Surgery under Prof. Dr med. Werner Schwab. Habilitation in 1984 and gaining the professorship in 1988 as one of the youngest professors in this field at all.<\/pee><\/div>\n

Professional path<\/h2>\n

"Although I was offered a life position as C 3 professor at the clinic on the right of the Isar and I received several chief medical appointments, I was drawn back to my homeland: to Lake Constance." (quote from Prof. Mang)<\/p>\n

After his 15-year university career, he did not follow the classical path of accepting a chief medical position or an ordinariate, but decided for the entrepreneurial risk and in 1990 opened a small private clinic for aesthetic surgery in Lindau, Unterer Schrannenplatz 1.[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n

Clinic operation began in June 1990 with 4 employees and 4 patient beds. None of his colleagues in Munich understood why he wanted to take this path, but success should prove him right.<\/pee>"To accomplish something unusual, you should be in a place where you feel comfortable." (quote from Prof. Mang)<\/pee> Professor Mang\u2019s career path is unusual: he founded the German Society for Aesthetic Medicine in 1987, was its president for 12 years and is a pioneer in the field of aesthetic surgery. He has helped many patients, not only with beauty operations, but also after accidents, for example. Burns he restored the face contours.<\/pee>He has written the most successful textbooks on aesthetic surgery (Manual Aesthetic Surgery, Springer Verlag Heidelberg), which have been translated into English, Russian, Chinese and Spanish. He is an honorary member of various national and international professional societies and has written over 100 publications and book contributions. He is chairman of the Professor-Mang-Stiftung, a foundation that provides operational care for children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.<\/pee>From the small clinic developed a clinic with first six, then ten and then twenty beds. In 2003, Europe\u2019s largest clinic for purely aesthetic surgery (40 beds, 4 operating rooms, lecture hall) was opened with a lot of media coverage.<\/pee>The biggest compliment came from plastic surgeons from Hollywood, who congratulated Prof. Mang on his new clinic because there was no comparable clinic on this scale in America at that time. Future<\/h2>\n

Prof. Dr. Werner Mang is director of the Bodenseeklinik in Lindau, the largest clinic for aesthetic surgery in Germany and the No. 1 for cosmetic surgery.<\/p>\n

Prof. Mang has made over 500 appearances on television and in print media. At Google, he is listed as the most famous cosmetic surgeon and as the most economically successful in Germany. Patients come from all over the world to the Bodenseeklinik. It offers all aesthetic plastic operations at the highest level. The clinic is located in one of the most beautiful places in Germany, directly on the Bavarian shore of Lake Constance.\t [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code module_class=”white_text” _builder_version=”4.27.5″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n

For the next few decades, the Bodenseeklinik is optimally equipped. His daughter Dr. Gloria Mang is in the management and responsible for management and marketing. His long-term employee, Dr. Jens Altmann, is Chief Physician of the Bodenseeklinik and, together with other top-trained doctors, runs the Mang School at the highest level.<\/pee>Prof. Mang: I am proud of what I have done in medicine. My life is the clinic and the surgery. Hopefully God will give me a few more years of health. The family keeps the iron together and the little grandchildren already jump in the clinic for the third generation. 100 years of Bodenseeklinik would already be my dream. Interest<\/h2>\n

Outside the profession, all his love belongs to his family and the sport. He is an avid tennis player and skier and moderate golfer. On the one hand he loves fast cars and on the other he likes to drive comfortably with the Harley Davidson through the nearby Allg\u00e4u. He appreciates good food and red wine.<\/p>\n
