Superficially, the intervention is quickly explained: As part of the maximum one-hour, mostly outpatient operation, an incision is made, either inside the mouth area or laterally in front of the ear. Then the "bichatic fat plug", which lies exactly in the middle of the cheek, is split and removed. The size can vary between pea size and golf ball size depending on the roundness and thickness of the face. This then also the cheek part comes more to the attention and the "wholesome" falls away.<\/em>, explains Professor Dr. Dr. Mang, medical director of the Bodenseeklinik.<\/p>\n

But the intervention also carries dangers. Operational cuts on the face have it in themselves, because here run countless muscles and nerves, which are very important for the facial expressions, for example.
