Prof. Dr. Werner Mang\u2019s car collection is remarkable \u2013 his preferences: Porsche, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce and Bentley. \u2018auto motor sport\u2019<\/em><\/a> He visited him in Lindau.<\/p>\n

The now 75-year-old professor is not only one of the most famous plastic surgeons of international reputation and president of the "International Society of Aegean Medicine (IG\u00c4M)<\/em> He is also a passionate car driver and collector.<\/p>\n

Very early on his car passion had awakened \u2013 It started right after graduation: with the restoration and overhaul of his first car \u2013 an old Volkswagen for 340 marks.<\/p>\n

As the financial resources increased with the professional success, his fleet grew accordingly \u2013 many famous classic cars are in his collection. But Professor Mang, who still prefers to travel without a chauffeur, has always been interested in racing \u2013 he says: \u2013 he says: "Running is an art"<\/em>, and Dismantling and rebuilding an engine is more difficult than an operating room.<\/em>, and further: For me, the icon of motorsport, the icon of the sports car, is the 911 Porsche. The city of Lindau named the square in front of the Bodenseeklinik after him \u2013 in recognition of the fact that he \u2013 together with his son Thomas \u2013 acquired real estate in Lindau, renovated it, renovated it in accordance with the latest standards energy-efficiently and rented it cheaply, "To give something back to the people here"<\/em>.
